Meet Mr.Nolan Houghton, he’s an 8 year old ripper from Placentia, California! You’ve probably seen him shredding at his favorite skateparks in Brea, and San Clemente. He also skates in Morrow Bay, Costa Mesa (the Volcom park), Vans at the Block, Fullerton….pretty much anywhere he can get those little wheels to roll!

Nolan’s been zipping around on a skateboard since the day he could walk, and watch out cause he’s movin up in the Skate World (next stop, Pro Status). Just recently Nolan won 2nd place in the 8-10yr old division of the San Clemente Open… and next year he’s shooting for 1st!

Nolan’s favorite decks to ride are Flip and Creature mini’s, and he’s a big fan of Ace Trucks. His favorite pro is Bucky Lasek and he definitely wants to be a pro skater when he grows up. His older brother, Gavin also skates and loves to carve and skate oldschool style.
Get to know Nolan a little better:
Alley: Hey Nolan, we just watched your latest video and were totally impressed with your skating. Who taught you how to Skate?
Nolan: Nobody. I practice a lot at Brea and San Clemente skateparks. I watch a lot of skaters to learn new tricks and stalls, and then I try them.

Alley: Looking out onto the horizon…. is there one particular trick that you are trying to master before your next competition?

Nolan: A hardflip. Actually, all new tricks.

Alley: Ok our next question is a 3 part question surrounding the subject of girls. 1.) We were wondering if you see a good amount of girl skateboarders at all the different skateparks you go to? 2.) Are there more girl skateboarders at certain parks compared to other ones you visit? Which ones?! 3.) Do you have a girlfriend? And if yes, does she skateboard?

Nolan: 1.) Sometimes I see one or two girls. 2.) I see the most at San Clemente. There’s one girl there that is really good. 3.) No, but if I did she would have to skateboard like Cara-Beth Burnside.

Alley: We’re impressed with your skating and were wondering if there were any other sports that you enjoy besides skating?

Nolan: Soccer and baseball, but mostly skating!

Alley: And last but not least, we were curious to know what superpower you would have if you could be given one?

Nolan: Super speed on my skateboard. – I could get huge air off a quarterpipe and do tricks way up in the air.

Big ups to Nolan for taking the time to let us interview him. Can’t wait to skate with him.

Until then,
