Say Hello to the newest addition to the Psycho Series line up, The Psycho Regenerate (RG8) Series, as if this series needed to get any better! This suit incorporates a Limestone-based neoprene, recycled plastics, recycled neoprene from pre & post production, as well as old wetsuits from around the world that have been returned to their warehouse.  I was lucky enough to try one of these suits a few months ago, and after I got out of the water I went straight to the order form and said, “I’ll take one, where do I sign”.

I wore the 3/2 version of this suit and was blown away by the warmth.  If you like the weight and flexibility of the Psycho 1 but wish it came in an ECO friendly chest zip, the RG8 is your suit.  For those who surf in the colder climates this suit is also offered in a 4/3 model as well.  Did you know 30%-40% of the neoprene used to build a wetsuit never makes it out of the factory!  Therefore, you should feel obligated to buy one of these suits to help clean up the world of its excess neoprene while feeling warm and cozy about it in the lineup.

The first ever WTW National Competition is off to a great start. All six schools are hard at work strategizing and preparing for the big event in August. We caught up with each school to see what they have been up to during this first stage of preparation.

Pearl City: Aloha Walk the Walk Enthusiasts! The Pearl City High School WTW team has been collaborating for an awesome show. We just started to plan our different music selections and gather performance suggestions. We are looking forward to meeting students from the other schools, and we are so excited to go through an epic experience.

Kellam: After going fabric shopping, our Head-to-Toe designer Ron is finally able to start designing his looks. The guy seriously has TALENT written all over him. His sketches are beautiful and I’m sure that whatever comes out of the sewing machine will be fantastic. We are working hard to produce an outstanding show and can’t wait to step on the Cali Catwalk with the other schools.

Corona Del Mar: Team CDM has made it a priority to separate itself from the other competing schools since the first stage of the competition. Currently, we are meticulously searching for beats that’ll pump up the crowd but still showcase the theme. We’re finalizing our choices in models, and we are working on creating new and original clothing designs. Everything looks sick, trust me.

Toms River: The end of the school year was a busy time for us. We decided to thank our school for all of its support with a “Team Hurley Gives Back Day” where we handed out free Italian Ice to everyone. Throughout June we met up with Leighann Borelli of Vanity 101 and Lauren Bertrando of Macy’s for advice on styling of hair, make-up and overall style of our look.

Lincoln: Other than just meetings, we’ve been hard at work compiling different elements of energizing, upbeat music and converting these into smooth, stylistic runway tracks. We constantly mesh each other’s ideas together to come up with ways to not only make our show amazing for the judges, but also to make our show as entertaining and interactive as possible for the crowd.

Huntington Beach: It’s been a couple weeks since our HBHS WTW team has met with Hurley, and we’ve had so many ideas flowing! Our team of designers has been hard at work designing clothes for our head-to-toe challenge. With our theme finally set in stone, we are kicking off our preparations strong and trying to produce a great show that has our HB flare.
